I actually found it a temple bazaar in Valley Stream Long Island. The fabric dates back to the 1950's and has a beautiful shine to the yard, giving it a rich luster. I can imagine the home it was used in with trim little sofas and chairs, a flagstone fireplace, and a Cadillac convertible in the driveway! It is twinned with a delicious chocolate brown silk & wool blend satin suiting and accented with pink, brown & gold mercerized cotton tassels. The dressmaker details are right out of the 1960’s with touches that are subtle, yet make a sophisticated statement. Extra large 19" x 19", 64% rayon / 20% silk / 15% wool /1% lurex, exclusive of trimming, feather and down insert. |
